The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the schedule for the 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Mains, which will be held from April 25 to April 30, across designated centers in Patna. Candidates who cleared the Preliminary Examination (PT) are eligible to apply for the Mains from February 21 to March 17, via the official website bpsc.bihar.gov.in.
The exam is being conducted to fill 2,035 vacancies across Bihar Administrative Service, Bihar Police Service, Revenue Service, and other state departments. The Mains examination will consist of four papers: General Hindi, General Studies Paper 1, General Studies Paper 2, and an Optional Subject chosen by the candidate. Following the Mains, successful candidates will be shortlisted for the interview round, which will determine final selections.
BPSC has reiterated that the examination will proceed as per schedule despite ongoing protests and demands for the cancellation of the Prelims. Meanwhile, large-scale protests have erupted in Patna, with aspirants alleging irregularities in the BPSC 70th Prelims, held on December 13, 2024. Demonstrators, including students and educators, have gathered at Gardanibagh and Mussallahpur Hall, demanding a re-examination due to an alleged question paper leak.
Educators Khan Sir and Motiur Rahman Khan (Guru Rahman) have joined the protests, and a rally was held from Mussallahpur to Gardanibagh as protesters raised slogans against BPSC and the Bihar government. While the Bihar government has denied allegations of a paper leak, authorities had earlier ordered a re-test for over 12,000 candidates who appeared at a Patna exam center affected by the alleged incident. Protesters continue to demand a full cancellation of the Prelims, stating that a partial re-test is not sufficient.
No official response has been issued by BPSC regarding further action on the demands raised by aspirants. With the Mains exam date now confirmed, tensions are expected to remain high as aspirants await clarification from the commission. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official BPSC website for any updates regarding the selection process and examination guidelines.
